Being a Mother...

I had a wonderful Mother's Day and I hope all of you amazing women had a great day too. I have some amazing "mothers" in my life, who I love dearly and who have each shaped me into who I am. I have a great mom, wonderful step-mom (Penny) and an awesome mother in law (Reba). I am so blessed and my greatest blessing in life is being Addie's mommy! Being a "mommy" to Addie is the best title I have ever been given. I have never been more proud to be known as anything else. It is my greatest joy in life. It is also my greatest challenge in life. It has taught me more about myself than anything else. It has changed my perspective about so many things and has taught me what is truly important in this life on earth.

Brian & Addie gave me the sweetest Mother's Day gift yesterday. I got a sweet card and this necklace and some earrings from Lisa Leonard:

I was so excited. I love her jewelry and I've been eyeing this necklace for a while. It's called a wish necklace and has a dandelion stamped on it and mine is stamped with adelynn, of course. Addie loves dandelions and it makes me think of all the "wishes" I have for my sweet little girl. It also reminds me of the poem "I Wish You Enough".

"I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright.
I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more.
I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive.
I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger.
I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.
I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.
I wish enough "Hello's" to get you through the final "Goodbye."
~Bob Perks

Addie also made me these sweet mother's day gifts. She made one at school and one in her class at church. Aren't these the sweetest?:

Addie & I didn't take a single picture together yesterday, but we had these pictures taken last week at Portrait Innovations and I love them.
